After mounting law suits hit $34 million, former attorney Roni Deutch gave up her license to practice law and shut down her business.
American Tax ReliefThe FTC shut this company down completely labeling their Offer in Compromise program was labeled a "bait and switch" scam. The FTC also cited deceptive business practices such as, false advertising, and over billing totaling $60 million in inappropriate fees as the main causes of the closure.
Tax MastersTexas and Minnesota Attorneys General both found abuses using "pennies on the dollar settlement" promises and other high-pressure sales tactics so severe they warranted law suits. Better Business Bureau records found over 800 complaints filed against Tax Masters since their business has been open.
